Catherine R. “Katie” (Schaub) Poeschl, 91, of Livingston, Montana passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2017 at Livingston HealthCare with the love of her family at her side. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9th, hosted at the Livingston Christian Center (1400 Mount Baldy Drive, Livingston). Graveside committal and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery with a reception following at the Shane Lalani Center’s Ballroom (415 E Lewis Street, Livingston).

Katie was born on January 7th, 1926 to Henry and Floy (Wakefield) Schaub in Pepin County, Durand, Wisconsin. She attended schools there and was a graduate of the Durand High School Class of 1943. She furthered her education attending business and communications school in Minneapolis, MN. She began her working career with Northwest Airlines out of Holman Field, in St. Paul, MN.
Katie was united in marriage to Robert Poeschl in 1946. In 1959, they moved their family to Livingston, MT.
Katie enjoyed genealogy, baking, flowers, and music. She also enjoyed attending the annual Park County Pioneer Society Banquet. She planned months ahead, and looked forward to seeing and visiting with her many friends. Katie was employed as a nurse’s assistant at Livingston Memorial Hospital for about 20 years and later cared for patients in their homes.
Katie is survived by her children: Roger (Patti) Poeschl of Whitefish, MT; Patricia (Gregory) Black of Friday Harbor, WA; Amy Wyatt of Sheridan, WY; Margaret Hargrove of Belgrade, MT; Hank (Dona) Poeschl of Livingston, MT; Tony (Debbie) Poeschl of Decker, MT; Tim (Liz) Poeschl of Livingston, MT, 13 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Floy Schaub; her husband Robert, who passed away in 2007; sons Nicholas and Ted Poeschl; and brothers, George and James Schaub.
Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
