Malcolm E. Adams, 88, former Livingston Bank President, passed away from natural causes on December 19, 2017 in Livingston, Montana, just shy of his 89th birthday. Born January 7, 1929 in Tempe, Arizona. He was a local 4-H champion and prizewinner, and with his sister Dorothy was half of the first brother/sister team to attend the National 4H Congress from Arizona. He attended Arizona State College and Montana State University, graduating with a degree in Animal Science. He was in USAF as a Weather Technician 1953-1957, serving in Japan and earning a Black Belt in Judo and participating in competitions. He started his career as a Montana State extension agent and later moved into banking; he worked in Great Falls, MT and served as president of Livingston, MT, and Miles City, MT, amongst other postings. After his retirement from the banking industry, Mr. Adams spent many years raising and breeding angus cattle under the “Lazy A” brand.

Mr. Adams was very active in the business community, serving as President of the Upper Midwest Agricultural Council and the Montana Angus Association and as a board member of the Board of Directors, Museum of the Rockies, and Montana Board of Horse Racing and was chairman of the Montana State University Advisory Council to the President.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; sisters, Dorothy and Shirley; brother, Art and sister in-law, Cathie; son, Preston; daughters, Paulina, Deborah, Julie, and Jennifer, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.
