Ronald Taylor Brooke Payne

September 10, 1936 — March 24, 2017

Surrender. Trust. Wait. On Friday, March 24, 2017, Ronald Taylor Brooke Payne passed away peacefully, in his Paradise Valley home, at the age of 80. A memorial funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, MT. There will be a reception to follow at Mountain Bible Church. Ronald was born on September 10, 1936 in Greeneville, Tennessee. The son of Henry Payne and Lucy Taylor, he was a joy to all he knew. As a boy, he could often be found in the company of Nolan Ricker and Earl Ricker. Ronald entered active military service in the United States Air Force in June of 1959. He was honorably discharged in August 1962. In 1961, he was married to Jo Ann McMillan. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Patti. They lived in Tennessee and shared 20 years of marriage. After his first wife passed away, Ron fell in love for a second time and married Carole R. Heilman-Payne on May 14, 1983. Their marriage resulted in the union of his 2 daughters with her 2 sons, Robert and James Heilman. In 1989, they were blessed with the addition of a third daughter, Ashlee. Ronald and Carole retired and moved to Paradise Valley, Montana in 2001. Ronald enjoyed a wide variety of activities here: RV travel, hiking, building onto the family home, and many more. He loved nothing as much as he loved relaxing on the front porch, enjoying the beautiful view. He was loved by many dear friends and family, both in Tennessee and Montana. Ronald is survived by loving wife, Carole R. Heilman-Payne, daughters: Julie Payne (TN), Patti Heckman (TN), and Ashlee Love (MT), sons: Robert Heilman (MT) and James Heilman (MT), other dear family (Jackie Heilman, Kenny Heckman, Michael Love, Elissa Heckman, Jonathan Heckman and many beloved friends).
