Colin: Funeral Director and Mortician; Hailey: Office Manager
Colin Zeman spent his childhood in Duluth, Minnesota. He graduated from Wrenshall High School in 2000. He then attended Lake Superior Community College for two years. After achieving an Associates in Arts Degree he spent a year and a half working for The Carpentry Werks in Duluth while deciding on what his college major would be. Colin is a 3rd generation funeral director. His grandfather Casimir Michaloski owned and operated Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, Minnesota. His Aunt and her husband Nick now run the business. It was by their example of service to others that Colin decided to attend Mortuary Science School at the University of Minnesota, graduating in the spring of 2005.
Upon graduation Colin served as an apprentice at the same funeral home Tom Davis worked at in Minneapolis. Since that time Colin has worked in southwest Minnesota serving a number of communities. Colin and Hailey moved to Livingston in December of 2012 to begin his working relationship with the Davis family. Late December 2012 Colin bought the practice from Tom and Judy Davis helping them to attain their desire to spend more time with grandchildren and each other in an out of work environment.
Colin is a Licensed Funeral Director and Mortician in both Montana and Minnesota. He is also is a prearrangement specialist and licensed life insurance agent in both Montana and Minnesota, which allows him to protect clients assets while ensuring Medicaid eligibility. Colin is also the Franzen-Davis Crematory Operator charged with ensuring dignified service and a pristine facility. His wife Hailey serves the funeral home as an office manager and as a crematory technician.
Both Colin and Hailey have fallen in love with their new community. Colin’s parents both live in Duluth and he as a younger sister and brother. Hailey’s family is from Watertown, Minnesota where her parents reside, as do her older sister and brother-in-law with their two children and her younger sister.
Sandy is a Livingston native, attending Winans Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and graduating from Park High School in 1972. She attended one year of college before marrying Ted in 1973.
Sandy is very active in the Episcopal Church. She is a life member of St. Andrew’s parish in Livingston, has served on the Vestry at St. Andrew’s, has served on several committees and councils for the Diocese of Montana and has represented Montana at the Episcopal Church General Convention six times.
As the chaplain for Livingston HealthCare Hospice Sandy has officiated at many memorial and funeral services. She serves Franzen-Davis Funeral Home as a funeral home assistant and funeral celebrant.
Funeral Director Retired
Tom Davis is a native of Livingston and a 2nd generation funeral director at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. Upon graduating from Park Senior High School he attended and received a degree in pre-medicine from Montana State University in Bozeman. He then enrolled in the Mortuary Science program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, earning a bachelor's degree with high distinction. After working as a funeral director in suburban Minneapolis, Tom returned to Livingston in 1975. He became a partner in Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, and had been its sole owner since 1995. Tom retired in 2014.
Active in his community, Tom is a member of Holbrook United Methodist Church; is a past president of the Montana Funeral Directors Association and Livingston Rotary Club; served for eight years on the American Board of Funeral Service Education as one of three representatives of the National Funeral Directors Association; was a charter member and served for 25 years on the advisory board of Gateway Hospice (now Livingston HospiceCare); is a long time member of the Board of Trustees of Livingston Community Trust; member of Livingston Chamber of Commerce; and NFIB. He is also a life member and Past Master of Livingston Lodge #32, A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Livingston Elks Lodge.
