Karen K Kaiser, 64, passed away peacefully at her home May 11, 2019 surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer.
Karen was born June 12, 1954 in the territory of Alaska, city of Anchorage, to Ernest and Mavis Kaiser. She lived in Alaska until age 7 at which time the family moved to Chandler, AZ. Karen graduated from Chandler High School in 1972. She attended school in Minneapolis, MN and graduated with an associate degree in Ophthalmic Technology. For several years, she worked for an ophthalmologist in Cheyenne, WY. At the age of 29, she began her career in sales as an eyewear frame rep. In 2004, she started with Safilo Group. Her travels through the years included MT, WY, ID, WA, AK, and SD logging well over a million miles. Over the course of her 36-year career, customers were not only her clients but many became longtime friends. Karen’s work never stopped. Even en route to an operating room, her doctors would have to take her phone from her.
In 1987, Karen found her forever fishing partner in Roger Selner. They were married May 7th, 1994 on a raft at Mallard’s Rest on the Yellowstone River south of Livingston MT. In the summer months, they spent their time camping, fishing and rafting on Montana’s lakes and rivers. Each winter they travelled to Mexico visiting multiple areas over the years.
Karen is survived by her husband of 25 years, Roger Selner of Livingston, MT, one brother, Brad (Marilyn) Kaiser of Dickinson, ND, stepson Mark Selner of Chicago, IL, nephews Jeff (Nicole) Kaiser of Portland, OR and Matt Kaiser of Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie & Mavis Kaiser.
No services are planned. Karen will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
