Linda Pierce

July 14, 1939 — December 30, 2018

Linda McVey Pierce, age 79, of Pray, Montana and formerly of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at her current residence, the Spring Creek Inn in Bozeman, Montana. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Emigrant. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment will take place at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, Illinois at a later date.She was born July 14, 1939, in Havana, Illinois to the late Clarence Harry and Alice (Riggins) McVey.She was a graduate of Gross Ile High School in Michigan and studied Public Relations at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She was an active member and organist at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Emigrant, Montana.Lindas proudest accomplishment was in the Quarter Horse World where she placed 6th at the World Championship Quarter Horse Show in Oklahoma City in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle. She was a hard worker and held many state high point titles. She was always ready and willing to learn new skills and learned to play the piano and organ at a young age. She later served as a church organist and became proficient in computer work, so she could become a graphic designer. She was also a member of the Shining Mountain Womens Club. Linda is survived by a son, Clauson Ronald "Ronnie" (Nancy) Coward, Jr., of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, a daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Alice Coward, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, two grandchildren, Clauson Ronald Coward III and Addie Brigham Coward; both of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, her Montana family, David and Rose Rigler, Gordon and Cyndy Rigler and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Pierce, a son, John Matthews Coward and a brother, Robert Stephen McVey.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to: St. Johns Episcopal Church in Emigrant, Montana.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
