Welcome to the memorial page for

Linda L. (Bailey) Wertz

October 12, 1957 ~ January 16, 2018 (age 60)

Linda (Bailey) Wertz, 60 of Clyde Park, Montana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at her home with the love of her family at her side.

Linda was born on October, 12 1957 to Everrett and Joyce (Chose) Bailey. Alongside her siblings, Linda grew up exploring the family ranch in the beautiful Crazy Mountains and graduated from Clyde Park High School before moving to Missoula to continue her education. In May of 1977 she married the love of her life, best friend, and life partner, Daniel Wertz. They moved back to the Shields Valley to raise their family, where Linda worked as the Business Manager for the school district for over 25 years.

Linda loved spending time with friends and family, and if you ever enjoyed one of her exquisite meals you knew you were going leave full of amazing food, having experienced much love and laughter around the Wertz family's dining room table. So to commemorate Linda, here are a few of her life’s ingredients.

A pinch of graciousness - Approach life with overwhelming kindness and love for family, friends, and animals. Linda loved her family with abandon. She and Dan had three children, Christina, Chad and Cassie. Her son Chad and daughter-in-law Erika gave Linda three delightful grandchildren, Laine, Zane, and Bristol, and Linda was always surrounded by an incredible group of extended family and friends.

A splash of adventure - Take walks often and get outside as much as you can. Explore the mountains, travel, go on hikes, and wake up early to enjoy the sunrise. If Linda wasn’t outside savoring the fresh mountain air, she was likely curled up in a blanket at home reading a book.

A sprinkle of joy - Live life with an open heart, spirited playfulness, and creative energy. Linda painted the world brighter and more beautiful with her laughter, wit, and zest for life. She had an indescribable way of knowing how to make others’ days lighter, always bringing happiness to those she met.

A dash of courage - Defy odds, and live each day with a smile, an undeterred love for life, and with spiritual guidance. Linda fought a fearless battle after receiving a surprising diagnosis of stage four lung cancer nearly three years ago, having lived a healthy smoke-free lifestyle for her entire life.

A spoonful of selflessness - Be generous. Linda was always putting others first, and though she was often found tending to her many amazing gardens.

She would much prefer that in lieu of flowers, friends and family show their generosity by giving to one of the following organizations she held close to her heart: the Livingston Food Resource Center, Stafford Animal Shelter, or Bike the US for MS.

A graveside service will be held at the Clyde Park Cemetery on July 7th at 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of her life at the Shields Valley Community Center, Clyde Park.

Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
