Marian Y. (Yorba) Gannon

d. January 6, 1949

Marian "Marnie" (Yorba) Gannon, 70, of Livingston, and formerly of Cambria, California, died on Friday, April 26, at Livingston HealthCare after a year-long struggle with cancer.Marnie was born in Honolulu on January 6, 1949 to Robert and Annie Yorba. A difficult childhood couldnt dim her curiosity, good humor and desire to help others, though she did have a happy obsession with earthquakes and end-of-the-world scenarios. She came to Livingston about 1990 and happily blended into the community, adding enthusiasm and goodwill to everything she did. She worked at Counterpoint for many years, then followed that with a second career as a caregiver. She served on a committee that brought the local RideShare into being.Marnie was a passionate environmentalist and a knowledgeable gardener who loved to share her seeds and the fruits of her gardens. "Growing your own food is like printing your own money" was her mantra. Above all, she was a great and caring friend to many people, all of whom will look back on her with love and memories of her great advice, which she offered in great quantities. She is survived by her son, Christopher Gannon of Paso Robles, California; and her sister, Dianne "DeeDee" Leichtfuss, and nieces, Tracy and Jami Leichtfuss, all of Cambria, California. A memorial will be held later, after the flowers bloom, she loved flowers. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
