Norman Frazier

February 8, 1938 — September 13, 2017

Norman C. Frazier, 79, of Livingston, Montana passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Billings Clinic Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, September 16, hosted at American Lutheran Church, (129 S F St, Livingston). Masonic Rites will be recited and veterans honors will be presented at Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will then be held at the Livingston Elks Lodge #246. Memorials are preferred to: Al Bedoo Temple, Transportation Fund: 1125 Broadwater Ave. Billings, MT 59102. Norman was born on February 8th, 1938, in Basin, Montana to Ernest B. and Catherine (Madden) Frazier. He grew up in Helena and Great Falls and was a graduate of Great Falls High School Class of 1957. He was the Head Drum Major of the Great Falls American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp. Following school Norman worked at the Smelter in Great Falls and for the Montana State Liquor control board. Norman enlisted in the United States Air National Guard in 1958, and served for several years. On April 30th, 1961, Norm was united in marriage to Charlene Speak, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Kimberlee, Karen, and Kelly James. They shared 56 years of marriage. In 1963 Norm and Charlene moved to Livingston. He began a career with the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroad companies. He served as an electrician in the traction motor shop. He would later be injured on the job in August of 1981. He was permanently disabled from that injury and began his retirement. When Normans children needed treatment at an early age, the Shriners provided care that the young family could not afford. From that time on, Norm dedicated his life to the Shrine and raising funds for the Shriners Childrens Hospital. His work was tireless and he was always the one to step up and take charge. He earned the name Stormin Norman from his children, their friends, and his fellow Shriners. A man of community involvement Norman was a member of the: Al Bedoo Temple (Past-Potentate, 1989); Livingston Shrine Club (Past-president); Livingston Shrine Klowns (President); Livingston Masonic Lodge #32 AF Order of the Eastern Star (Past-Patron of Orient Chapter #6); Livingston Elks Lodge #246 (Past Exulted Ruler); Livingston Roundup Association and a proud member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Norman is survived by his: wife, Charlene Frazier of Livingston; children, Kimberlee (David) Stewart of Casper, WY, and their children, Andy, Charlie, Lisa and Emily Stewart; Karen (Ray) Richards of Livingston, MT, their children, Sean (Alisa) and Mary Richards; Kelly (Lisa) Frazier of Shelton, WA and their children, Mark (Tanya) and Mariah Frazier. Great-grandchildren, (Mark and Tanyas kids) Jenavieve, Hailey and McKenna: nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Catherine Frazier, brother in infancy, Norman Douglas Frazier, brother, Richard "Dick" Frazier killed in the Vietnam war, sister, Evelyn Chavez.
