Georgia Sumner

March 10, 1923 — September 28, 2016

Georgia (Sarver) Sumner, 93, of Livingston, Montana, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Georgia was born March 10, 1923 to George and Nora (Cole) Sarver. She was raised on the family ranch near Rock Creek north east of Clyde Park. Ibex was her view and no other mountains compared to the "Crazies." She rode her horse to country school, graduated from Clyde Park High in 1941 and graduated from U of M Dillon in 1944. She then taught at country schools in Park County. Georgia married Charles Taylor November 16, 1944. They ranched near Mill Creek Flat and Tom Miner Basin. They were blessed with four children Ronald (Jackie), Jerry (Rowene), Jeannie and Debra (Tony) Huiett. Georgia married Arthur Sumner March 10, 1961 and welcomed children Barbara (Don) Workman, Joyce (Chuck) Ludwig and Tom (Debbie) Sumner. They ranched and worked in Yellowstone for the National Park Service. She was his "Captain" and he was her best birthday present. Georgias passion in life was her family. She was the best Grama and GG ever. She gave selflessly of her time and endless love to Christopher Dykman, Nora Eisenstein, Erica Henderson, Jinjur Easterbrooks and their children Ashley, Sierra, Jacob, Tristen, Lucas, Alexander, Valon and Lila. Grandchildren, Lorrie, Linda, Chuck Jr, Jennifer, Diane, Jeff, Art, Tom, Niki, Heidi, Jessie and Ben were always special to her heart. Georgias work ethic was superior whether ranching, the Park Service or head of Security at Mineral Hill Mine. Her idea of retirement was a milk cow, chickens, ducks, geese and a small band of sheep. She thought her grandkids should learn how to milk and where the eggs and yummy fried chicken came from. Georgia was blessed with musical talent; singing, playing piano and most stringed instruments by ear. She loved to dance, garden, travel, play cards, tease and all sports especially the Denver Broncos. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1996, daughter Jeannie in 2010, parents George and Nora Sarver and Charles and Ada Sumner, brothers William and Charles Sarver, sister Myrtle Eby, grandchildren Bart and Sara and many others who loved her. As per Georgias wishes no formal service will be held. Interment will be at Park View Memorial Gardens. Happy Trails To You Until We Meet Again A special thank you to Irene Crosten, Julie Anderson and LHC Hospice. Memorials can be directed to Livingston HealthCare Hospice, Stafford Shelter or your choice.
