A celebration of life will be held on July 17, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the American Legion Hall in Livingston.
Robert Frederick aka Phrog was born in Townsend MT on July 3, 1946, and grew up and lived in Livingston.
He graduated from Park High in 1965. He then joined the Navy and served 3 tours in Vietnam. After serving his country he returned home and began work as a carpenter and a roofer. He worked 21 years at the County Incinerator where he began collecting treasures that other people threw away.
Phrog helped remodel his brother Mic’s house, his sister Vivian’s house and helped his brother Dave and Lee build their home.
He developed a close relationship with his daughter Cecily Olson when she was a young adult. He helped put her through college. They enjoyed vacationing and rock collecting together until her death in 2012.
He had a passion for rock cutting, polishing and tumbling. He made beautiful necklaces from agates and other gem stones always keeping Cecily in his heart. He was close to his family and enjoyed fishing with his brothers, camping with his family and hanging out at the cabins. He delighted his nieces and nephews with his uncensored vocabulary. He loved hunting with his brother, nephews and friends. He would brag that he shot an elk every year for 21 years. He enjoyed gardening and collecting agates with Dave until his passing on April 27, 2023.
Phrog was preceded in death by his daughter Cecily Olson, his parents Maxine Frederick and Dwight Frederick, step mother Doris Frederick, brother Mike Frederick, niece Marilee Rohrbach, step sisters Sharon Holler, Betty Kicker and Charolette West.
Phrog is survived by his sister Vivian Rohrbach, brother Dave Frederick, step sisters Janet Haagenson and Gayle Cooke, and nieces and nephews.
