David Ray McGee, 76, of Livingston, Montana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 at his home with his wife at his side. A funeral service and celebration of Davids life will be held on Saturday, August 18th, beginning at 12:00 P.M. with visitation and viewing at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home (118 North 3rd St., Livingston) and continuing until 1:30 P.M., at that time we will proceed to Park View Gardens Cemetery where veterans honors will be presented and then a graveside funeral service will be held. Following the service, everyone is invited to a late lunch at the Pine Creek Methodist Church (2470 East River Road). David was born in Los Angeles, California on the 4th of July 1942 to Edith and Lonnie McGee. Already, he was a special guy! David loved baseball his entire life. He played on many, many teams all over California, Nevada and Montana. He also coached many, many little league teams in California, Nevada and Montana. David loved children so very much; and thoroughly enjoyed teaching and coaching baseball to children of all ages and backgrounds. Baseball was the love of his life! David was an exceptional baseball player; whether it be hitting, pitching, running the bases or outfielder. David could have played pro-ball. David was a very physically hard-working man and very physically fit! He was an entrepreneur and was almost always self-employed. He was a lath and plasterer, sawyer, firewood business, construction contractor, a master at woodworking construction, a fantastic and talented landscaper. He landscaped many large business grounds for Texaco gas stations and other businesses, retirement homes, churches and so very many homes from California & Nevada to Montana. When David mowed a yard and trimmed it, it looked like an artist had been there. David had also been a real estate agent and an appraiser. Later in life he became an outdoor photographer. His wife, Toni, went to school to learn to mat and frame his gorgeous photographs, which were shown and sold at art shows and given to family and friends. David did so many different things in his life, all of them so perfectly. He was just a naturally talented man. David loved his wife Toni, and all his children and his large family and all his friends. His mother was the apple of his eye! Still living today at 94 years old. I also must mention his love of the outdoors and hunting and fishing. David always brought home the bacon. He was an excellent marksman and a lucky fisherman. David loved his Lord. He knew he belonged to the King. David is survived by Toni, his wife of 37 1|2 years; two beloved dogs, Jackson and Lilly. His very special children, David McGee Jr. (Melinda), Patti Messier (Jim Kaylor), Jayson Pearson (Nissa), Curt Crandall, 4 grandchildren, Adam Mello (Erica), Kailynn Messier, Michael McGee and Kathryn McGee, 3 great-grandchildren, Blake and Chasse Mello and Titus; Mother, Edith McGee; sisters, Lonna Meyer (Jerry) and Dawnie Hayes (Jerrell); brother, Tim McGee; nephew, Gary Sampson (Sarah Louise) and many cousins, nieces nephews, uncles and aunts, from California, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona. He is also survived by his very close friends and neighbors, the entire Dave and Mel Busby family, Dave Humphrey family, Julie Inderland family, Roger Nelson family, the Mark Tomaszowski family, Pastor Delgetti family, Martha Hampson family and so many others. David was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie. It will very difficult not having David with us anymore. He will be greatly missed by so many. Rest in peace David. We know you are in Heaven running the bases and hitting the ball out of the park.I love you Honey-o.Your cupcake, Toni.
