Dean Paul Majcher, of Livingston, Montana, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 after a brief illness on October 13, 2026.
Dean was born on February 12, 1962, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, to Wayne and Lois (Whitmer) Majcher. He grew up alongside his brothers, Mark Majcher (Amy) and Matthew Majcher (Rachel).
From a young age, Dean had a deep love of hunting, fishing, trapping, taxidermy, riding dirt bikes, spending time with his hunting dogs, and traveling to Deep Creek to visit his grandparents.
Dean graduated from South Park High School before attending the police academy and beginning a career in law enforcement. He worked his way from dog catcher to patrolman and went on to dedicate 25 years of his life to serving and helping the community of Upper St. Clair.
Dean is survived by the love of his life, Susan (Morrow) Majcher, with whom he built a beautiful life and celebrated 36 years of marriage. He was an amazing husband who enjoyed building a new life in retirement in Montana with Susan and his family.
Dean is survived by his children, Nolan (Alicia) and Maura (Anthony). He was a dedicated, hard-working father who always made sure his love for his children was known.
Dean was able to experience passing on his passions to his son. Dean found so much pride and happiness in watching Nolan chase his dreams of becoming a fishing guide. He loved experiencing these things with Nolan, whether it was floating down the Yellowstone River or helping him pack out an elk.
Dean inspired Maura to pursue her dream of becoming a licensed professional mental health counselor. He was so happy to have Maura move out to Montana to join the rest of the family and experience a new life. They loved thrifting, going on bike rides, and just spending time together.
Dean had an incredible love for his daughter-in-law and son-in-law. He treated Alicia and Anthony as his own. He enjoyed mornings with Alicia, helping with the kids, and watching football with Anthony.
Dean was the most dedicated Pap Pap to his grandchildren, Jeremiah Paul and Avery Rose. He enjoyed his retirement by spending as much time as possible with them. Dean loved his two grandchildren with all of his heart, and they made him happier than anything else in the entire world.
Dean was blessed by a large devoted family consisting of his aunts, uncles, cousins, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and an extended network of close friends.
Dean will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, friend, and so much more.
Dean was a man of so many talents and hobbies. His loves never changed with fishing, hunting, trapping, tying flies, fixing things, building things, flintknapping, birdwatching, and knowing the name of every plant and tree.
Dean had an impact on his family, his community, and touched the lives of so many. He’ll be remembered as one of a kind, with his kind heart, his ability to make people smile, the amount of love he had to give to so many people, and his ability to always be lighthearted and fun.
