Donald Erwin Moullet, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026.

He was born on February 1, 1936, in Toledo, Oregon, to Erwin and Irene Moullet. Don was the eldest of three children, with a younger brother Darrell and younger sister Corinne. He was born into a hardworking logging family, a way of life that shaped his character, values and strong work ethic from an early age.

He attended Siuslaw High School in Florence, Oregon, where he met the love of his life, Carol Wells Cooper. Don and Carol were married on June 1, 1953, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 63 years. While living in Oregon, they welcomed their first son Jon Erwin, followed by their second son Daniel Wells. In the summer of 1958 Don, his parents, his brother Darrell and their wives and children moved to Livingston, Montana, seeking better opportunities in the logging industry. There, Don and Carol completed their family with the 'birth of their daughter, Amy Esther.

In 1959 tragedy struck when Don's father lost his life in a logging accident, leaving Don as the sole owner of Moullet Logging. Don carried this responsibility with strength, determination and integrity. He worked in the logging industry and built roads for logging operations throughout his entire career, earning the respect of those who knew and worked with him.

In his later years, Don enjoyed rebuilding a 1926 Chevy truck, playing golf and talking "shop" with his close friend Mike Adams. He also found purpose in giving back, volunteering with the Jaycees, Backpack Buddies and Meals on Wheels. Don lived his faith quietly, demonstrated through service, generosity and a willingness to help others.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Irene Moullet; his brother Darrell; and his beloved wife Carol.

He is survived by his sister Corinne Ballard and his three children: Jon (Kathy) Moullet, Dan (Ginny) Moullet and Amy (Tim) Chapman; along with his nine grandchildren: Kylee Naffziger, Caleb Gasche, Ryann Steffenson, Alyson Peterson, Josh Moullet, Nicholas Chapman, Layton Moullet, Noah Merca and Rebekah Merca; fifteen great grandchildren: Alex, Addison, Morgan, Makinlee, Bode, Mylee, Reece, Freddy, Ryker, Alyson, Ruby, Dayler, Paisley, Annelise and Henry.

Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, a dedicated logger and a man of quiet faith. He now rests in the peace and eternal care of the Lord.

No services will be held at this time.
