Donn Michael Cholcher, age 60, of Livingston. Donn left this earthly life to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior on February 5, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in both Livingston, Montana and Saginaw, Michigan. Donn M. Cholcher was born on November 19, 1952 in Saginaw, MI. The son of Donald and Arlene (Lambert) Cholcher, Donn was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw, MI. Donn began his career as a police officer with the Michigan State Police. He then accepted a position with the Midland Police Department, and served with strength and honor until his retirement in 2006. While working with MPD he served in many capacities including training new officers, several years with BAYANET drug enforcement team and over 20 years on the MPD SWAT team, ultimately commanding the team. Donn spent the last 16 years of his career with MPD in the Detective Bureau. After his MPD retirement, Donn worked with the City of West Yellowstone Police Department, USIS, and as a Park County Sheriff's Reserve Deputy. Donn also enjoyed his work with Irongate Security teams at the Crazy Mountain Ranch. On May 19, 1984, Donn was united in marriage to Jane Bleiler, in Midland, MI. Donn and Jane resided in Midland, MI, until they later moved to Paradise Valley, south of Livingston, MT. They shared over 28 years of marriage. Donn loved anything and everything about the great outdoors. He had long wished to live in Montana and happily relocated to the Big Sky State upon his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing and being a part of God's beautiful creation in any way he could. Donn felt truly blessed to be a part of the Paradise Valley Community Church family and valued many friendships beyond measure. Blessed be his memory. Be at peace dear one... Donn is survived by his: Wife, Jane Cholcher of Livingston, MT; Mother, Arlene Cholcher of Saginaw, MI; Sisters, Linda Hill and husband Don of Saginaw, MI; Nancy Deike and husband Rick of Coleman, MI; Father and Mother-in-law, Eugene and Barbara Bleiler of Grand Rapids, MI; Sister-in-laws, Marty Faasse and husband Brian of Ada, MI; Lynne Connor of Grand Rapids, MI; Donn was especially close to his nephews and nieces Daniel and Sarah Faasse; Danielle Smith and her daughter Olivia, Melanie Hill-Pollard and husband Jeff and their sons, Eli and Ethan. Many good friends and fellow police officers, hunting partners and all those that loved the feel of the wind in their hair, together. His faithful lab Jake who will never stop watching out the windows for his return. Donn is preceded in death by his Father, Donald Cholcher. Arrangements under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Livingston. Online condolences may be offered at Franzen-Davis.com. A Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, MI.
