Donna Jean Armentaro

Donna Jean (Schustrom) Armentaro 88, of Livingston, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Donna was born on March 2, 1933, in Bozeman, Montana. She was the daughter of Charles and Mable (Haukaas) Schustrom. She received her education in Livingston and was a graduate of the Park County High School Class of 1952. While Donna attended school she also worked at the hospital as a nurse's aide and then later was one of the first ward clerks.Louis met Donna when she was 15 years old through her father when Louis returned from the war. They began to date after she turned 18 with a long courtship. On February 11, 1956, Donna was united in marriage to Louis Armentaro, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Livingston. This marriage was blessed with two children, Mary and John. Kim joined the family, becoming the little sister in 1982. They shared 65 years of marriage and resided in Livingston at the family home. Donna was employed at Dr. Rowe's Clinic as an Office Assistant. She also worked, in her early years, as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Naegli. She retired at age 65 from full-time work but continued working on a part-time basis up to age 70. Donna and Louie loved children and raised 31 foster children both long-term and some short-term including Becky Saffo.Donna and Louie enjoyed and spent lots of time at the Livingston Rodeos, and Donna was a bus driver for the band. She loved to make ceramics, work in her flower beds, was very active in her church; she was a RSVP volunteer and enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the senior center. Donna lived a full life and one of her greatest joys was her family, grandchildren, and her friends. Blessed be her memory. Donna is survived by her husband, Louis Armentaro; children, Mary (John) Betley, John Armentaro, Kim (Shawn) Meyer; grandchildren, Joe Betley, Robyn (Christopher) Sherdahl, Mike Betley, Robin Noel (Cody) Miller, Tyler Armentaro, Bo Jessen, Ben Jessen; great-grandchildren, Angel Sherdahl, Ashlyn Sherdhal, Lilly Betley, Jaxton Miller; brother, Bill Schustrom; and many other relatives and friends.Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel Schustrom.A Memorial Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Livingston with a luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials may be made to the church in honor of Donna. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
