Gilda (Tecca) Pollock, 93, passed away on March 8, 2025.
Gilda “Jill” (Tecca) Pollock was born on December 25, 1931, in Livingston, MT to Concetta Rose (Romano)Tecca and Guy Tecca at the Robinson’s Maternity Hospital. She was the first born of four children, two younger sisters, Dolores and Juanita and a brother, Thomas. Gilda was known by family and friends as Jill. She attended East Side School grades first through fifth, Lincoln School, grades sixth through eighth and graduated from Park High School in 1949. At age thirteen she started working at the Ben Franklin Store and was an usherette at the State Theater (now Empire Theater) all while attending school. After graduating she worked at Blair Motor Company as a bookkeeper. Jill met her husband Paul while working at the theater. Paul was a sawmill owner for 32 years. They were married on June 17, 1950.
Jill had many interests, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, went to ceramics weekly, made many crocheted doilies and embroidered dishtowels. She loved playing bridge weekly with her friends. Jill knitted and won the sweepstake award ribbon at the Bozeman Winter Fair in 1970. She and Paul volunteered with Meals on Wheels. They loved to hike, trail bike and fish mountain lakes in the summer. They also built three homes, one on Park Road, one at Pine Creek along the Yellowstone River and one on 12th Street in Livingston. She and her family loved to ski Bridger Bowl, but also skied at Sun Valley, Vail, Big Sky and Aspen. Jill made beautiful birthday and wedding cakes for many years. She enjoyed traveling in the states and Europe. They took the family to Disneyland on their 50th wedding anniversary and in 2007 she traveled with her daughters on an unforgettable trip to Egypt and Israel (the holy land) in the footsteps of Jesus. She and Paul took care of Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine at Emigrant for many years by mowing and watering. Jill was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Chapter P, P.E.O. and the Red Hat Society.
Jill was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her beloved husband Paul in 2006 after 56 years of marriage, sisters; Dolores VanOrden and Juanita Wilson, brother; Tom Tecca, nephew; Tim VanOrden, and niece; Sheri Printz.
Survivors include her three daughters; Paulette (Daryl) Stutterheim and their sons Tyler and Shawn, Donna (Ed) Ingwaldson of Billings and their children Annamarie, Erick and Holly and Tina (Ed) Stole and her children Amanda and Alyssa, nieces and nephews; Debra Johnson, Chantel and Vince Tecca (twins) and Christine Goroski; first cousins; Shirley Depuy and Irene Lane, 8 great grandchildren; Macy, Makenna and Morgan Everitt, Emryn, Easton and Everett Stutterheim and Will and Beau Reitler.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Scholarship Fund or to donor’s choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the church following the service.
