Irene M. (Rife) Allen

Irene M. (Rife) Allen, 91, longtime resident of Park County, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital with her daughter at her side. Cremation has taken place and per her wishes no service is planned.Irene was born on May 20, 1926 in Electric Montana to Ernest and Sybil (Vink) Rife at her grandparent's Frank and Bertha (Wagner) Rife's home. She attended various schools including: Lombard, Muir, Dailey, and Livingston; due to her father's employment as a section foreman for the Northern Pacific Railroad the family moved quite often. Irene was a graduate of Park County High School.Irene was married to Chet Allen on May 20, 1946. They resided at their beloved Strawberry Creek Ranch for many years. They were devoted to the ranch and loved their cows, horses, and pets.Irene was very active in the Royal Neighbors organization and was a member of the Park County Pioneers, Shining Mountain Club, and St. John's Episcopal Church.She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Don) Sessing, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet, her sister, Doris (Rife) Pirtz, and brother-in-law, Rich Pirtz.If desired, memorials may be directed to: Stafford Animal Shelter, 3 Business Park Rd, Livingston, MT 59047; Park County Pioneers, or Shining Mountain Club, both at 10 McDonald Creek Road, Livingston, MT 59047.Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
