Irvin Joe Williamson

June 24, 1952 — July 13, 2023

Irvin Williamson, 71, passed away at his home on July 13, 2023. Irvin was born on June 24, 1952, to Henry and Dorothy Williamson in Browning, Montana. Irvin spent his time working as a logger until moving to Livingston, Montana. Shortly after the move, Irvin married Marlis Williamson in August 1996. While in Livingston Irvin worked in the concrete industry and as a heavy equipment operator for Knife River until he was forced to retire following a stroke. While in Livingston Irvin enjoyed helping to care for family, taking care of his beautiful lawn, and tinkering in his shed with his faithful companion, his little dog Buddy.

In July 2020, Irvin and Marlis moved to Billings to be closer to their daughter, Debbie Lynn. This would be the first time in their marriage that they were not caring for others, and they had the opportunity to enjoy their time together. Irv enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and taking Buddy for a ride on his scooter. Before coming home Buddy would demand they stop at the gas station and get a snack, usually jerky. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, rodeos, and listening to country music. Irv loved his family and enjoyed keeping all of us up to date on his sister, Kitten’s cattle, his son Little Irv’s firefighting job, and all the local news.

Irv was a kind and easy-going man, a person made content by caring and helping others. He was always happy and willing to give, no amount of time or effort was ever a burden to Irv, but an opportunity to share and make memories. Irv was a good and steady friend and will be dearly missed.

Irv is survived by his daughters Cathy Carvey & family of Laporte, Indiana, Debbie Lynn (Kyle) Schoolcraft-Ebert of Billings, Montana, sons Irvin (Bonnie) Williamson & family of Rathdrum, Idaho, John (Michele) Schoolcraft & family of Belgrade, Montana, his sisters Mona Wood & family and Kitten Fowler & family both of Rexford, Montana. Irv is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Marlis Williamson, his sister Mona Lemer, and his brother Danny Williamson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Livingston Bible Church on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Stafford Animal Shelter where Irv adopted Buddy.
