James R. Fox

James Rauley Fox, 88, of Livingston passed away on November 29, 2025, peacefully with his wife by his side. Cremation has been entrusted to Franzen-Davis Funeral Home.

James was born on June 14, 1937, to Samuel and Norma (Godding) Fox in Rapid City, SD. He was raised on the family farm there. In 1955 he joined the US army and served his country in the Korean War. Upon returning he moved to the Bozeman area until finally settling in Livingston in 1965 and marrying his sweetheart Maxine in 1975.

He worked for the Forest Service for 25 years but in his free time enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and reading.

Jim will be missed by all that have known him, but especially his wife, Maxine; daughter, Shawna Marie Fox; Granddaughters, Jamie Tuttle, Riley Fraker Fox, Dylan Fraker Fox; Grandsons, Michael Himmelspach, and Joshua Jerde.
