James E. Jim Sarrazin

November 10, 1926 — June 15, 2020

James Earl "Jimmy" Sarrazin was born in the Shields Valley on November 10, 1926 and passed away on June 15, 2020 at the age of 93. He was the seventh child of Laurent and Josephine (Faure) Sarrazin, joining five brothers and a sister. Jimmy married Joyce M. Shadoan on November 29, 1952. They were blessed with two children, Terry and Bill. The highlight of his life was when he was chosen as the drover representing Park County in the Montana Centennial Cattle Drive in 1989. He was also inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2016. Jimmy was also chosen Grand Marshall of the Shields Valley Old Settlers Days. Jimmy was one of the founders of the Clyde Park Rural Fire Department, served on the Park County FSA Committee, member of the American Legion Park Post 23, Park County Ranchers Marketing Association, Park County Pioneer Society, and a member of St. Margarets Catholic Church in Clyde Park. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Joyce, children Terry (Cyndi) of West Burlington, Iowa and Bill (Lori) of Clyde Park; grandchildren, Laurent Sarrazin of West Burlington, Iowa, Alyssa Sarrazin of Burlington, Iowa, Zachary (Bridget) Sarrazin of Clyde Park, Montana, Elizabeth (Josh) Helgeson of Spokane, Washington, Nate (Sara) Sarrazin of Crystal, Minnesota, Laura (Dustin) Homan of Clyde Park, Montana, and Matthew Sarrazin of Clyde Park, Montana; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Kinley Helgeson, Greyson Sarrazin, and Jase Sarrazin; one sister-in-law, Jean Sarrazin and numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marie (Warren) Palmer, Emile (Dorothy), Gus (Margaret), George (Betty), Paul (Alice), and Leon Sarrazin. Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Jim, will be held on Thursday, June 18, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Clyde Park Cemetery with veterans honors presented; and then reception will be at the Shields Valley Community Center. Please know we will do our best to practice preventive measures regarding COVID-19, masks are welcome, but not required. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
