Jane Baker

May 20, 1937 — March 14, 2026

Livingston

Jane was born May 20, 1937, in Gary, Indiana. When she was three years old, she and her mother moved to Livingston. On October 8, 1956, Jane married Donald R. Baker. They lived on the family ranch on the north fork of Willow Creek before moving into town in 2007.

Although Jane would say she was a city girl living in the country, she adapted well. With her mother-in-law, Leona, they would tend a large garden and put up vegetables for the winter and raise/butcher chickens to sell in town. She enjoyed the ranch life. Jane also worked part-time as a bookkeeper in the tire industry at the same tire shop as her husband. Jane loved to sew, knit, read, play the piano, do petit point, flowers and gardening, cook and bake. There was always some type of dessert in the house at all times.

Jane is survived by her children, Marshall Baker and Elizabeth (Craig) VanDePolder; grandchildren, KaCey (Bri) Anderson, Jadeen (Zach) Anderson, and Zoey Baker; siblings, James Warnick, John Warnick, Laura Bittner, Victor Warnick, and David Warnick.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine P. Hershman and Violet Strickland Warnick, and siblings, Amelia Johnson and Charles (Milo) Warnick.

Per Jane’s request, there will be no services.
