John Ridgeway Hudecek

February 22, 1926 — April 15, 2014

John Ridgeway "Johnny" Hudecek, 88, of Livingston, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at The Frontier Assisted Living Community in Livingston. A viewing will be held 3-6 PM, Friday, April 18, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 19, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Monte Casebolt officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery with Veterans Honors presented by Livingston American Legion and V.F.W. Memorials are preferred to: Livingston 4-H Club (414 East Callender St). John was born on February 22, 1926, in Beach, North Dakota. He was the son of Joseph and Edna (Easton) Hudecek. He received his education in Beach, ND and continued his studies in Agriculture Trade with the Civilian Conservation Camp also in North Dakota. John worked for the Bodine family in the Shields Valley showing cattle before joining the Army. John entered active military service in the United States Army on December 15, 1950, and served his country during the Korean War. He received an Honorable Discharge on August 3, 1956. John also served three years with the United States Army Reserve. On June 28, 1959, John was united in marriage to Patricia Sue Keyes, at the Methodist Church in Livingston. This marriage was blessed with three children, Steven James, John William and Lisa Mae. John and Pat shared 55 years of marriage. John was employed at Peavey Company in Livingston as a feed and fertilizer salesman. He was the companys top sales man for many years. He and Pat moved as he was transferred to Dillon, Wilsall and back to Livingston. He retired from the Con Agra Company in 1981 following an accident in a feed truck that left him disabled. John was a longtime member of the American Legion and was active in 4-H for 40 years. John was a man who enjoyed people. He chatted with everyone around him and no matter where he went he would run into someone that he knew. He was a hard worker which stemmed from his love of caring for others. He would show up at the Frontier Home, before he was a resident, and pour coffee for folks and chat them up. John has spent the last four years at the Frontier Home. We want to thank those who cared so well for him. Blessed be his memory. John is survived by his: Loving Wife, Pat Hudecek of Livingston, MT. Daughter, Lisa Hudecek of Great Falls, MT. Brothers, Joseph Hudecek and Les Hudecek both of Sheridan, WY. Sisters, Mary Lee of Shepherd, MT, Florence McAfee of White Sulphur Springs, MT. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. John is preceded in death by his: Parents, Joseph and Edna Hudecek. Sons, Steven Hudecek and Billy Hudecek. Brothers, James and Maynard Hudecek. Sisters, Carrie Christianson, Virginia Thompson, and Helen Hudecek. Arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory
