Johnnie Roy Counts, 62, of Emigrant, passed away early Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home in Emigrant, Montana. Emigrant was also the place of his birth May 27, 1951. He was the surviving son of a twin birth. He is survived by his siblings: Gracie (Ron) Scher, Barbara (Lloyd) Haefs, Ann (Don) Close, Eva (Tom) Sutherland, Jane (Mike) Eman, Charles (Sandra) Counts, Fred (Linda) Counts, and Sally (Bryan) Wells. John was preceded in death by his older brothers Thomas and Russell Counts, his parents Porter Webster Counts and Gladys (McAllister) Counts. Johnnie married Valerie Sutton on May 22, 1976. His children are Kosima (Ken) Claussen of Manhattan, Justin (Krishnan Ranjani) Counts of Portland, Oregon, Amanda (Eli) Fabian of Livingston, and Zachary Counts of Livingston. His grandchildren are Kyle Kenneth and Kalib John Claussen of Belgrade, Cole Leroy and Jesse Ian Fabian of Livingston, and Laya Jane Counts of Oregon. John joined the armed services in 1970. Upon his discharge he worked for BNRR in Livingston and again in Burlington, Iowa. Lastly he worked for LRC in Livingston. Johnnie was a Master Mechanic and earned a Pipefitters Degree. Johnnie will always be remembered as a wonderful and kind father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He gave magnanimously of his time, talents, and resources. Johnnie counted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Johnnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Per his request there will be no funeral services at this time. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
