Judy Ann (Taylor) Kinne, our beloved wife, mom and grandmother, passed away Dec. 18, 2024, with her family by her side in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Judy was a fun, affectionate person who always looked for ways to make the world a brighter place, whether she was playing peek-a-boo with kids on a plane or sharing thoughtful gifts.
She was born July 24, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, to Art and Ann Taylor. She moved to Livingston, Montana, when she was 8 years old and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Park County High School. Her Catholic faith was strong all throughout her life.
In 1963, Terry Kinne noticed Judy practicing her baton twirling in Sacajawea Park and it was love at first sight. They married in 1966 and spent 58 wonderful years together. They had two beautiful children, Darren and Tawnya. Judy was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and three grandchildren.
Judy's career as an elementary school teacher spanned 40 years, during which she touched countless lives. Her students adored her for her patience, kindness, and ability to make learning as fun as it was meaningful. Former students still remember her with fondness, and often sought her out for a hug or a quick chat whenever they crossed paths.
Judy loved traveling. She and Terry enjoyed glamping, boating, and exploring new places all over the United States and beyond. Judy also treasured her time with her close friends of many decades, aka "The LLC Group." They were a constant source of joy and laughter, and Judy cherished those friendships dearly.
Judy is survived by her husband, Terry; son, Darren Kinne (wife Shellie and their kids, Macie and Reece); daughter, Tawnya Hawkins (husband Shane and their son, Kaden); sister, Jeanne Johnson (husband Jim); and brothers, Gary Taylor (wife Sandi) and Byron Taylor; and nieces Wendy McCann and Misty Raney. She is also survived by a host of friends and loved ones who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Judy spent her life searching for ways to make a difference. Whether it was with her family, her students, or her friends, she found joy in lifting others up. And, while she will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us all to be a little kinder, a little more thoughtful, and a lot more loving.
