Kenneth Delbert "Kenny" Johnson, 69, of Livingston, Montana passed away suddenly of natural causes on Sunday, June 30, 2019 while doing what he loved most, ranch chores. A memorial funeral service will be held Saturday, August 31, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 2:00 P.M. Celebration of life will follow at the Livingston Elks Lodge beginning at 4:00 P.M.Kenny was born in Cut Bank, Montana on June 8th, 1950. He was the fifth of eleven children born to Jay F. and Nona (Eddy) Johnson. The family was in the midst of traveling back from a job Jay had in Canada when Kenny made his entrance into this world. He was raised in Butte and was a graduate of the high school class of 1969.Following school Kenny worked for a bit with Montana Power on the high line. He would attend the University of Montana in Missoula and then return to Butte taking jobs until he found his passion as an Iron worker. While enjoying a lovely St. Patricks Day in Butte he met the love of his life, Sharon Peters. They were wed on April 9, 1973 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. As Kenny had begun apprenticeship to be an iron worker in Spokane, WA he endured a crushed elbow. While rehabbing from the injury he took classes at Spokane Community College to become certified as a welder and in hydraulics operation. It was during his period that Kenny and Sharon welcomed two boys into their family, Joshua and Rylan.Kenny has traveled the Pacific Northwest assisting in the construction of many, many projects.In 1990 he and Sharon moved to Livingston to her familys ranch on Suce Creek. They assisted her parents and then took over the operation of the ranch. Kenny also was an equipment operator at the Park County Landfill until it closed, and he started ranching full time.Kenny loved deer hunting, the outdoors in general, and nothing more than puttering around the ranch fixing up what needed fixing. He was a social, fun loving, jovial man, always ready with a witty comment. His granddaughter was a shining star in his sky, he was so proud of her.Kenny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; son, Joshua and his wife Christianna and their daughter, Alice, and son, Rylan; daughter-in-law, Robin Johnson and her daughter, Ashley Andrews; siblings, Jill, Gary (Linda), Christie, Kathy, Gayellen, Zelda (Tom), David, Greg (Connie) Ronnie (Cookie), and Sara. As well as, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Nona Johnson; stepson, Craig Johnson; and nephew, Joe Powers.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
