Livingston

Lisa Ann Hartmann (née Kusles), age 69, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on June 18, 2026, in Livingston, Montana. Born on January 27, 1957, in Oak Park, Illinois, Lisa was the beloved daughter of the late Alphonse and Lucille Kusles.

A graduate of Proviso West High School in 1975, Lisa went on to earn her Associate’s degree in Nursing from Triton Junior College. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a hospital floor nurse and later as a diabetes educator. Her exceptional commitment to her profession was recognized when she was honored with the prestigious Nurse of the Year award.

Beyond her professional life, Lisa embraced a variety of passions. She was an avid reader and a devoted fan of baseball, especially cheering for her cherished Chicago Cubs, as well as college basketball. Her love for animals led her to volunteer at local animal shelters, where she cared for animals with boundless compassion. Dogs held a particularly special place in her heart throughout her life.

Lisa’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Raised Catholic, she faithfully attended mass in every community she called home, finding strength and solace in her faith.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Don Hartmann; her daughters, Sarah Ziegler (Rich) and Katie Jackson (Ian); and her treasured granddaughter, Rami Jackson. She will also be fondly remembered by the many lives she touched—friends, family members, patients, and the animals she cared for so deeply.

Preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Lucille Kusles and many cherished pets. Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter.
