Marilyn Jo Taylor

Marilyn Jo Taylor, née Parsons, age 72, passed away on September 18, 2026. Born on December 27, 1953, in Livingston, Montana, Marilyn moved to Dallas, Texas, where she built a life centered around family, laughter, and the people she loved. Though she lived in Texas through her adult life, Montana never left her heart. She cherished every trip back to visit the place she called home.

Marilyn was a loving, outspoken woman who never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel like part of the conversation. She enjoyed live music and concerts, but nothing brought her more joy than time with her family. Carrying on a tradition passed down from her own mother, Marilyn loved large family dinners, spending hours making sauce and filling her home with people to eat, talk, and laugh late into the night. Family was at the center of her world, and she found some of her greatest happiness surrounded by the people she loved most.

Marilyn was a devoted mother to Amy, Randy, and Jennifer, and a loving grandmother to Anthony, Jeremiah, Landon, Bryn, Cooper, Porter, Hunter, Zachary, Nicholas, and Noah. Her grandchildren could do no wrong in her eyes. She was a generous gift giver who indulged their every wish and paid close attention to the things that mattered most to them, whether that meant cheering from the stands, sitting in the audience, or simply being there. Being part of their lives, in whatever way she could, was one of her greatest joys.

She will be remembered for her big heart, her love of conversation, and the special joy she found gathered around a table with the people she loved. Marilyn's memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, and the many people who loved her. Her laughter, love, and devotion to her family will continue to be cherished for generations to come.

Marilyn is survived by her children and their spouses, Amy and Frank Salgado, Randy and Christina Taylor and Jennifer and Webster Counts, her nine grandsons, Anthony, Jeremiah, Landon, Cooper, Porter, Hunter, Zachary, Nicholas, and Noah, and her only granddaughter, Bryn. She also leaves behind two sisters, Carolyn Sarrazin and Jayne Coyle and one brother, Tim Parsons, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ida Parsons, as well as her sister Lynda Chase and brother-in-law Paul Chase.

The celebration of Marilyn's life will begin on Friday, October 2nd with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home (118 N. 3rd Street, Livingston).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston. Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a reception afterward at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts Veranda. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Marilyn to join them in honoring her life and sharing memories.
