Scott M. Murie, 47, longtime Livingston native, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Livingston HelathCare Hospital. Scott was born on April 6, 1974, in Livingston, MT to Sheila M. (Mason) and Grant D. Murie. When in second grade the family moved to Cheney, Washington where Scott attended schools until his junior year. Scott moved back to Livingston to live with his grandparents during his senior year, and he was a graduate of Park High class of 1993. Following school Scott went to work, digging in the dirt. He worked for Bainters for a number of years, J&S construction building highways, he had his own firm, Murie Excavation. He was handy with everything, building homes for Weimer Construction and just plain old, loved tinkering. He liked to start a new project but sometimes had a tough time finishing them. For the past four and a half years he has been operating Special Lube with his son James, which brought him joy both in the work and being with his son.Scott enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing the Yellowstone River. He supported his boys with their motocross endeavors and cherished time spent at the Fuqua cabin. Scott was a social guy, and generous almost to a fault.He had a good heart and is gone from this world way too soon. He is survived by: his sons, Clint (Kayla) Murie and their daughter Paisley Jo; James Murie and Joseph Murie, all of Livingston; his mother, Sheila Murie of Cheney, WA; brother, David (Cindy) Murie of Wenatchee, WA, and their children, Ashley, Zac and Karissa. He was preceded in death by his dad, Grant; his grandparents, George and Lydia Murie and Lynn and Joyce Fuqua.A celebration of Scott's life will be held 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 3, at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. A light reception will follow the service with interment at Mountain View cemetery concluding the event.
