Stephen E Bickwermert

Stephen Eugene Bickwermert, 72, of Livingston, Montana passed away on March 20, 2024.  He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. Steve graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and continued his education at Brescia University.  Steve began his career as a photographer at Owensboro Messenger & Inquirer newspaper.

He married Valeria Johnson on July 4, 1976, and they moved to Montana in 1978.  Steve worked at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT from 1978 until his retirement.  He also volunteered at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.

Steve loved the mountains, hiking, camping and time spent with friends and family.  Although born in Kentucky - Steve considered Montana his home.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Bernadette Bickwermert, his former wife Valeria Bickwermert and his brother-in-law Ben Salmon.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters; Sheila (Bill) Kyle, Agnes (Les) Allen, Mary Salmon, Gregg (Julie) Bickwermert, Chris (Ruthie) Bickwermert, Maria (Mike) Osowicz, Joe (Debbie) Bickwermert, Pat Bickwermert, Tom (Michele) Bickwermert.

Steve also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his cherished "Montana Family".

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
