Walter W. O'Hara

Wally O,'Hara, 95, passed away peacefully with his family by his side and with the loving care of Hospice on Sunday Jan. 3, 2021.Wally was born on October 19, 1925 in Faribault, MN. He was the youngest of seven children. All of his siblings have preceded him in death.At the age of 16 yrs Wally enlisted in the Navy and proudly served in WWII primarily in the South Pacific.Upon his discharge he moved to Livingston to join his brother, Allyn. It was here that he met the love of his life. The day after they met, he told Allyn that he 'met the girl he was going to marry'. That was the beginning of their 72-year love story.He was a police officer, owned and operated the Standard Oil Bulk Plant, and retired as an accomplished building contractor.In 1980 they purchased a small acreage on the wineglass and built their dream home. Wally's dream was to raise Arabian horses. His children and grandchildren shared his dream. Through the years he provided horses for all. The greatest times in his life was trail riding and helping his grandchildren with their 4-H projects.He loved life and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met.He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Muggsy), three children, his son Tim (Gloria) of Pinedale, Wy, and two daughters, Gini (Dex)Tank of Bozeman, and Merry (Jerry) Tacke of Livingston.He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Matt (Sasha), Kelly (Annie) and Amy (Ed) O'Hara, Levi (Tracy), David (Michael) Young, Kash (Michelle), Kyle (Yumi) Tacke and Kody (Joel) Farkell.His 15 great grandchildren were the apple of his eye and just gave him one more reason to smile.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
