William "Bill" D. Gibson

1941 — 2024

William D. (Bill) Gibson passed away in December at the age of 83 after a brief, courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. During his time in hospice, Bill was surrounded by friends and family, all of whom were impressed by how he lived his final days with grace, constancy, and a kind demeanor.

Born and raised in Livingston, MT to Fred L. and Jean L. (Jeffries) Gibson, Bill attended grades 1-12 there, graduating from Park County High School in 1959. He then went on to attend college at the University of Montana, Missoula. Bill entered the Army immediately upon graduation in 1964. He traveled far and wide during his career in the military, first as a soldier and later as a civilian. After retiring, Bill returned to his hometown of Livingston. He admired Livingston for its brisk cold, unrivaled wind, and the fact that the railroad has adamantly done nothing for years to upgrade the 5th Street crossing.

Bill is survived by his son Brad, of Seattle, WA, his brother Dan of Centennial, CO, and his sister Julie, of Riverton, WY.
