Jerry A. Schmidt

June 15, 1946 — November 15, 2020

Jerry A Schmidt, 74, of Livingston Montana, lost his battle with COVID -19 on November 15, 2020 at Livingston Healthcare. Jerry Allen Schmidt was born on June 15, 1946 to Albert and Lorraine Schmidt of Stockton California. He graduated from Lodi High School and attended Delta College. He enlisted into the National Guard, during the Vietnam War. He was subsequently sent to both the Watts riots and the Mothers March in Berkeley, California. He was honorable discharged in February of 1970. On June 26, 2006, Jerry married his third wife, Lori in a beach front ceremony on Maui. This marriage blended Loris daughter, Chelsea and Jerrys son, Adam. Jerry was self-employed as a general contractor for over 50 years, having built hundreds of homes in California, Nevada, Washington and Montana. His proudest accomplishment was building the Great Bear Lodge at St. Marys in Glacier Park for the Black Family. He was a member of the Greater Kiwanis Club of Kingston, Washington where he was involved in multiple fundraising efforts. In his younger days, Jerry enjoyed skiing, both water and snow. He enjoyed spending time in Lake Tahoe with friends and family. Jerry loved classic cars and hot rods, and loved restoring them as well, though he went from a drag racer when he was young, to more of a cruiser when he was old. A white knuckle ride to him became a mile or two over the speed limit. He had a love of animals that was second to none; he could often be seen lounging with them at home or giving them rides, always listening to the Beach Boys. Jerry loved people and would often make friends where ever he went. Jerry never met a steak he didnt like, or a burger, or a desert, or a hole in the wall breakfast spot. Most of all he loved his family, always putting everyones feelings ahead of his. Jerry touched the souls of many and will always be remembered as the one who had the knowing of a lot of things, who could get things done and the one who would always be there for you. Jerry was a proud father, husband, veteran and patriot. He will be missed by all, well, maybe not everyone on Facebook but thats another story. Jerry is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lori, his children, son Adam and his wife Jennifer of Placerville, Ca. daughter Chelsea and her husband Jared of Livingston, Mt. and a sister, Barrie and niece Jane of Kingston, Wa. Jerry was preceded in death by his first born son, Jared, who passed in 1991, Lorraine, his mother and Bud, his father, and sister Larrie. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements. To view the obituary of share online condolences visit, www.franzen-davis.com or visit Jerry Schmidt on Facebook.
