Join in honoring Nancy's memory on Tuesday, May, 24 - 1:30 P.M. at Fanzen-Davis. Refreshments will be provided.
Nancy Lee (Sathre) was born February 18, 1944, in International Falls, Minnesota, the youngest of five children born to Darwin J. and Edna (Hackett) Sathre. Nancy spent her kindergarten through second-grade years in Bemidji, MN; her third-grade year in Livingston; her fourth-grade year in Hillsboro, OR; her fifth and sixth-grade years in Livingston; and her remaining junior high and high school years in Clyde Park, graduating in 1962. Nancy went on to graduate from the Saint Patrick’s School of Nursing in Missoula. Nancy worked for many years as a nurse in Livingston nurturing a lifelong desire to be a caregiver to those struggling with illness. Nancy married Phil Gilbert in September 1965, and they raised two children, son, John "Jamie" Gilbert and daughter, Audra Jyll Hoskins.
Nancy was an artistic individual, and her creativity showed itself in a number of ways throughout her life: Nancy was known for her beautiful tole painting, at one point having an ornament she painted displayed on the White House Christmas tree. She was a passionate quilter, an oil painter, and enjoyed using her creativity to decorate her bed and breakfast, the Gibson-Cassidy House in Clyde Park. Nancy also adored her animal companions, including orange tabby cat Julius and her beloved English Springer Spaniel, Gunna.
Nancy was proceeded in death by her father, Darwin and her mother, Edna; as well as sisters, Phyliss, Patty, and Nina; and brother, Lesley. She is survived by son, Jamie and wife, Lisa Gilbert and grandchildren John Cody and Trace; as well as daughter, Audra Hoskins and her husband, Shawn and grandchildren Wyatt, Cole, Sophi, and Morgan Fairchild, step-granddaughter, Brooklyn Hoskins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
