Steven Larrabee, 45, of Gardiner, Montana passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, September 5, 2020 doing what he loves most, fly fishing.
Steven was born on January 5, 1975 in Shawnee, Oklahoma the only son of Kay (Arens) and Don Larrabee.
Steven came to work for Xanterra in Yellowstone in 2000. This followed a visit at age 13 with his parents that inspired him to pursue living and working in one of the most special places in the world. He was honored to support YNP and Xanterra. He started from the bottom and worked his way up to being Manager of housekeeping operations for all Xanterra’s Yellowstone operations.
He loved the park, and the outdoors in general. He was a passionate fly fisherman loved to hike, but always wanted to keep going to see what was around the next bend in the trail. He was a gentleman, was selfless caring for others deeply. He was humble and handsome as well. He enjoyed a little heavy metal when it came to music, which would catch you off guard knowing his personality. Saying his presents will be missed is an understatement. All our love is with you Steven, and we feel you with us too.
He is survived by his parents, Kay and Don Larrabee of Shawnee, OK; his significant other, Yvonne Madrid of Gardiner, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
