Nate was born on October 21, 1948 In Harlowton, Montana to Luther and Bertha (Vandenburg) Daniels. He graduated from the one room school in Reed Point in 1966. Following his schooling he worked in the area for ranchers and at sawmills. The Daniels family had friends in Columbus, MT and Nate had the unique privilege to have known his future wife since they were about six years old. They would go on to be married to the love of his life, Sherry Lynn Miller on March 26, 1970 in Superior, MT. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage.

Nate and Sherry began their family in Laurel and Nate started working for the railroad. They would eventually settle in Park City in 1979. Nate had to retire from the railroad in 1985 due to an injury. In 1991 they moved to Park County and in 2000 they moved to the ranch where Nate currently resided.

Nate was a big-hearted man of good charter and a sharp since of humor. He had a deep love of family, and his grandbabies held a very special place in his heart, he was present at every one of their births.

Nate loved the outdoors. He announced, “we are burning daylight” by six AM and had every gun he might have needed with him for the hunt. He had ol’ Long John, his gun for distance, ready at any time. He liked fishing too, mowing the yard was a chore and a passion, he might have done the next yard over if you did not tell him to stop… He gardened too, his green thumb was strong, particularly for growing his radishes, which he ate like apples. Nate was a talented mechanic too, he could and would fix just about anything. He like to stay busy as much as possible. On his down time, he could be found watching western movies with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood or a little Texas Ranger with Chuck Norris.

Dad, grandpa, brother, we love you so much. You are gone too soon, and we know you love us too, you will be with us every day, in what you have taught us, and with the love you have given us.

Nate is survived by: his children, Connie Daniels and her partner Auggie Zierlein of Martinsdale, Christina Gilman and her husband Bruce of Emigrant, Nate Daniels and his wife CJ of Emigrant, Lori Zimmerman and her husband Gayland of Emigrant, Cari Daniels and her fiancé, Ben Quigley of Livingston; grandchildren, Dalton (Kenzie) and Jordan (Ty) McPherson, Darian, Delana and Destiny Gilman, Jessie and Jake Zimmerman, Hailey Daniels and Nora Quigley; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Ryden and Ember; Brothers, Ralph, Bob (Janet) and Donny (Nancy); nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
